About Us
Welcome to the Robot Intelligence and Vision Laboratory (RIV
Lab) at Bu-Ali Sina University.
Established in 2010 by Dr. Khotanlou, our lab has been a place
for talented researchers specializing in various aspects of
Machine Learning, Robotics, and Computer Vision.
With a dual focus on Robot Intelligence and Vision research, our
team is advancing Human-Robot Interaction, Social Path-Planning,
Human Gestures and Face Recognition, Generative models, and
Multimodal Vision Systems. Our ultimate goal is to develop
Multimodal, Efficient, and Responsible AI systems that can
better recognize, understand, and emulate our world.

How to Join Us
Thank you for your interest in joining our lab. We continually offer opportunities for BSc, MSc, and PhD theses aligned with our ongoing research. If you wish to join us, please follow these steps:
For PhD/MSc Students:
1.
Enroll in Bu-Ali Sina University and take at least one
course with Dr. Khotanlou.
2.
Contact Dr. Khotanlou directly to express your interest in joining the lab.
For BSc Students:
1.
Enroll in Bu-Ali Sina University.
2.
Send your CV and transcript, highlighting your professional and academic achievements, to the following email address: RIV@basu.ac.ir
All Applicants Should Have:
- A strong interest in our research areas
- Proficient programming skills, particularly in Python
- Knowledge or experience in machine learning and deep learning
